Our Story
In 2022, Jen Badger found herself at a crossroads. As she entered her middle-age years, she became more aware of the growing number of chemicals in the beauty products she had been using for years. Like many, Jen had always been focused on maintaining a youthful appearance, but as time went on, she began questioning what was really going into her skincare routine.
It all started when an acquaintance introduced her to a natural skincare product. Jen was amazed at how well it worked, and even more so at the fact that it was free from the harsh chemicals she’d grown accustomed to. The transformation in her skin was subtle but undeniable—she felt healthier, more radiant, and confident in her own skin. Most importantly, Jen felt a deep sense of empowerment knowing that she had control over what went into her skincare products.
As she continued her journey, Jen became fascinated by the world of botanicals and their powerful benefits for the skin. She immersed herself in learning about herbs, oils, and plant-based ingredients that could nourish and rejuvenate. Her research led her to discover how ingredients like rosemary, lavender, calendula, rose water, and tallow could work in harmony to enhance the skin’s natural beauty. She is a student of the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism and has completed the "Herbal Skin Wisdom" course. She is dedicated to continuing her education to improve and add products in the future.
The more Jen learned, the more she felt compelled to share her newfound passion with others. She knew that if she could help others experience the same transformation, they too could feel empowered, confident, and connected to the natural world around them.
And so, EarthShine Botanicals was born. The name "EarthShine" holds deep meaning for Jen—it represents the natural radiance that comes from within, like the soft glow that illuminates the earth after a fresh rain or the gentle shimmer of light reflected off the surface of the earth at dawn. This “shine” symbolizes the purity and vitality found in nature’s most potent ingredients. For Jen, EarthShine also represents a mission: to bring that inner glow to others, helping them reconnect with the earth's healing gifts and experience the transformative power of simple, clean skincare.
Each EarthShine product is made in small batches in Jefferson, Iowa, ensuring that every formulation receives the attention and care it deserves. Jen's dedication to quality and sustainability shines through in every product, and she’s proud to share her creations with others who are looking for simple, effective, and chemical-free skincare.
